Lost Americana
Lost Americana is the seventh studio album by MGK, released on August 8, 2025, through EST 19XX and Interscope Records. Marking a bold sonic departure from his pop-punk era, this album embraces a rootsy Americana sound blended with rock, folk, and subtle hip-hop influences. It is notably his first project to feature no guest appearances, allowing MGK to deliver a deeply personal narrative exploring themes of family, friendship, addiction, and reinvention. The album's announcement trailer was famously narrated by Bob Dylan, generating widespread media attention. Recorded with longtime collaborators Nick Long, Stephen Basil, and Brandon Allen, Lost Americana was preceded by the singles "Cliché," "Vampire Diaries," and "Miss Sunshine." The closing track "Orpheus," co-written with his partner Megan Fox, draws on Greek mythology to mirror MGK's own emotional journey, making the album a reflective metaphor for his life and artistic evolution.
